Yesterday the men completed the ten week course, "Breaking Free: Uprooting Destructive Habits and Thought Patterns" by Jack Frost of Shiloh Place Ministries. The series deals with fleshly strongholds of "root issues". These strongholds are destructive habit structures of thinking that produce anger, lust, poverty, sickness, manipulation, insecurity, and emotional pain are all exposed at the root issue. The men received much understanding through this series of why they have been struggling with issues in their lives without being able to get free from them successfully. They also received understanding of how to get free from these root issues. Time and time again, we saw men experiencing "ah-ha" moments during each of the DVD teachings. Some even came with tears in their eyes after some of classes to express their gratefulness for the teachings and the inner healing they are receiving from them. There are too many testimonies to share in this post. Word has gotten out to other men in the unit and many of them are asking for permission to attend the next series. The class was originally only for the men in the faith-based dorm, which is about fifty-two men. The chaplain has given us permission to open the class to the rest of the unit! He has approved up to one-hundred spots in the next class! We thank and praise God for the privilege of being able make the next series available to men outside of the faith-based dorm.
The next series is also by Jack Frost of Shiloh Place Ministries, "Spiritual Slavery to Spiritual Sonship - Your Destiny Awaits You". We hear heart breaking story after heartbreaking story from the men of not having a father who loved them, having a father who abused them or not ever knowing who their father was. We believe these teachings will help the men go from slavery to Sonship, and in the processed be delivered from an "orphan spirit" through the love of Jesus Christ and the power of His Holy Spirit. Keep the men in prayer as you are led.
After we watched the last session yesterday we blessed the men with a "Certificate of Completion". They were very nice certificates we purchased at Office Depot. We called them men up individually to receive their certificates and allowed them to share a few words if they wanted. Several expressed their gratitude for receiving the revelation they received through the teachings and began to encourage each other to stick together and to look out for each other. They all just poured into each other and began to value each other. It was a beautiful site to behold. We had a blast and the Spirit of our Father was in the house!
