Prison Ministry Report: June 16, 2016

It has been a while since our last report. I want to thank everyone who prays for the ministry and supports it financially. We could not do what we do without your support. Not everyone is called to the pulpit or to going out into the streets, jails and prisons, but we are all called, some to pray and sow finances so that the "Gospel of the Kingdom" can preached. So again, thank you so much for all the prayers and financial support. It is greatly appreciated and as the scripture says - And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Please add the Wallace Pack Prison Unit - Trusty Camp to your intercessor's list. The men are hungry and eager to learn. We've only held 2 classes so far and we have grown from 29 men in the first class to 34 in the second class last week! I am expecting the number to continue to grow as the men go out and inspire others to join. For the next ten weeks we will be working on breaking free from destructive habits and thought patterns. We will then work on going from a spiritual slave mentality to a spiritual son mentality for eight weeks. The goal is to move them into sonship. From there we move into the gifts of the Spirit and moving in the gifts of the Spirit. This will mean having them practice on each other! I love this part of the journey because it's awesome to see their faces as they are astonished at how they are hearing clearly from the Lord, praying for people with healing manifesting! Glory to God.

Testimony

Please pray for hitchhiker named Phillip. I was on my way home for last Thursday night's class at the trusty camp. I had just moved onto the new stretch of 99 from Hwy 290 and was headed to Hwy 249. Just as I got onto 99 I noticed a young man with a small suitcase walking on the side of the highway. It was very dark, no lamps in this area of the road. It was about 10 PM and I thought to myself how no one would be crazy enough to pick up this guy in the dark. Besides, he had to be up to no good, right? I said a prayer for him and drove on. I finally reached my exit for Hwy 249/Tomball when the Lord spoke to me and said, "I want you to turn around and go back to pick up that hitchhiker." What! I laughed and said ok, but wanted to know why. I had such a peace come over me that I knew it was God. It is about 12 miles from Hwy 290 to Hwy 249. Surely someone had already picked up the guy or maybe he turned off the highway into one of the neighborhoods? The Lord spoke then and said, "Tell him I heard him, and yes, I do know what he's going through and I do care about his situation, and I will help him, if he will allow me to." Wow! I finally made it back to Hwy 290 with no sign of him. I was hoping I would see him on the way back, and sure enough, there he was standing on the side of the highway trying to look at something in the dark. It was a photograph he found on the ground. (I think the Lord planted it there to keep him still so I could find him in the dark). I pulled up and asked him if he needed a ride. Duh. He said yes, as far as I could take him. I told him Tomball and he got in. Looked very tired and was definitely in need of a shower. He was worn, torn and over burdened physically and spiritually. He asked why I picked him up and I told him because the Lord told me to. No response from him, just a surprised look. He told me he was curious because a Hummer picking up a hitchhiker in the middle of the on a dark stretch of road could only mean one thing. Weirdo. I agreed. LOL. I told him how I actually passed by him earlier and as I was exiting the Hwy 249/Tomball exit the Lord told me to turn around and go pick him up. I told him what the Lord told me to tell him and he melted. Then the Lord told me to tell him that just as he sent a stranger to pick him up in the middle of night in the middle of nowhere that He was sending others to help him get off the streets, back on his feet and eventually reunited with his family, but it would be up to him to walk it out. He said he felt so encouraged and overwhelmed by our encounter. He was walking down the dark highway thinking about his wife who had been incarcerated recently, his own demons he was fighting, losing his children to foster care and missing them tremendously, being homeless without a place to stay, but mainly, he wondered if God knew what he was going through and if He even cared. Then this white Hummer pulls up along side of him and picks him up. Wow!

I dropped him off on Hwy 249 and Louetta Rd. Prayed for him before I left. He asked so what do you do when you're not picking up hitchhikers in the middle of the night? LOL. I told him I was coming from the prison where I volunteer. He asked for contact information. He said one day he would return to go into the prison with me once he gets his life cleaned up. Father, from his lips to Your ears! His name is Phillip. Pray for him and his family as the Lord leads you to.
