It's been a month since I have been to Israel for the 2015 Feast of Tabernacles. It has taken me some time to process all that took place while we were there. I will begin to post more in the days following. I want to thank everyone who supported the trip - financially, prayerfully and in many others ways. Our main assignment there was to bless Israel, support and encourage the people. We worshiped with them, prayed with them, cried with some and sowed much into the land. Smashing Pillars International sowed a significant amount of funds to various ministries while there and your generous donations made it possible and for that I thank you and the Lord will bless you because the Word of God says so.
"I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;
And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
And I will curse him who curses you;
And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
Genesis 12:3
This is now my third consecutive year to be blessed with the opportunity to go and worship with our Jewish and Messianic brothers and sisters in Israel. Many prophetic assignments, decrees and declarations were released through worship, intercession and prophetic acts over the land that our Lord and Savior Yeshua loves so much.
We started our journey Jordan. Before we entered Israel we went to Petra. The Nabataeans worshipped Arab-gods and goddesses of the pre-Islamic times as well as a few of their deified kings. Dushara was the primary male god and the name means "Lord of the Mountain". The historian Strabo mentions that the Nabataeans worshiped the sun and set up altars to it in their homes. He added that they made daily libations on these altars and used incense. The archeologist, Philip Hammond, comments that: “the god of the people was Dushares, 'Lord (dhu) of the Shara (Mountains)'. The exact nature of this deity, whether it was a mountain or a solar object like the sun, is still not entirely clear, in terms of the original concepts held about him.” As a contrast, the Sabeans of southern Arabia worshiped the sun cradled in the crescent of the moon. Some scholars feel that the ancient Nabataean pantheon may have become: Al-Qaum, the male god of the night (moon), Dushara, the god of the day (sun) and the goddess Al-Uzza (stars). For more information go to Nabataean gods and to Petra - WikiLeaks.
We from Jordan we literally walked across the Jordan-Israel border with our luggage. It seemed so symbolic of being called out of darkness into light because there was such a heavy spirit of oppression present the whole time we were Jordan, but the moment we walked across the border into Israel it lifted. We thought about how we were just in Petra where many gods were worshiped and served. Then were walked across the border to Israel where Abraham, Isaac and Jacob worshiped the one true God, Yahweh, the great I Am!
Itinerary planning for Feast of Tabernacles 2016 has already begun! Enjoy the photos below.
May the Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.
In Christ,
Samuel
